Jen, your previous attempts were not totally unsuccesful. You did get some tomatoes and strawberries from your pots on Cook Rd. And you have to remember the babies took up a lot of your time when you were trying to garden then!!

[...] I hope to inspire some of you who’ve been thinking about starting your own garden. Trust me, you don’t have to live in the country to have your own vegetable garden! Looking forward to hearing more from you on the subject of Raised Bed Gardening. [...]

Jenni – I would definitely turn to the Encyclopedia of Country Living by Carla Emery. She has great garden plans and specifically talks about raised beds, irrigation, fertilizer mixing, etc. We used it extensively when we first tried to “live off the land”. You should be able to find it at the library, but it has so many good recipes in it that I ended up buying myself a copy so I wouldn’t feel guilty about the food stains :). Anyway, thanks for the blog, we’re trying some of your recipes and really enjoying the reading. God bless you!
