February Giveaway

This year I am turning 30 on February 12th, 2008 and I decided that I want to do a giveaway on my birthday. We mom’s can easily get off track, and me-focused. So this year, on the big 3-0, I thought it would be fun to give a gift on my birthday.

I’m excited to announce my February Giveaway! I’m going to be giving away a waterproof child’s apron, that I made especially for you (or one of your daughters:) Anyone can enter, you can always give the apron as a gift. The apron would fit a 2-5 year old girl.

Here are two ways to enter:

1. It’s simple, just leave a comment in this post, note the comment must be left in this post, or it will not count.

2. You can earn a second entry into the drawing if you do a quick post on your blog and with a link back to this post. Then come back here and leave a comment with the link to your post in the comments. That part is really important, if you don’t post the link to your post, your entry will not be valid (if you need help or need to change something, I would love to help)

Tip on getting the link to your post-all you have to do is right click on the title of the post and hit copy, then paste into my comments.

All entries must be made by 12:00 noon on February 12, 2008. I will announce the winner later that afternoon.

The lavender material on the apron is water proof polyester so your little princess can do the dishes without getting her shirt all wet. The thing I love about this material is that it’s waterproof but it’s still soft and comfortable so she wont be begging you to let her take it off. The pockets are made of a 100% cotton frog print material. Machine wash and dry. For those of you who would like to purchase an apron in the future, I will be selling them and if you are interested you can e-mail me at chrisandjenni-at-gmail.com

Here’s a little close-up of the print. Well, I hope you decide to join my February Apron Giveaway!!

Reminder about the Recipe Contest

Thank you to all of you who have already entered the contest! Some of you have posted entries a little too close together and I just wanted to remind you that you can only post once a week (or every 7 days to be more clear), also when you are posting a recipe, in order to get credit for the contest you need to include a link back to the recipe contest, and then come back to my site and give me a comment that includes your recipe (URL), so that I can double check it and make sure you have everything you need. I will give credit for those ones that have applied each of the rules, but I’m having a hard time keeping track of those ones who need to make changes. So let me know when you’ve made the changes and I will be glad to add you into the contest, thanks!!!

Please review the rules to the contest if you entering again, thanks!

A Recipe Contest-Giveaway

Okay, I am really excited about this, is anyone interested in winning a $35 Gift Card to Crate & Barrel? I am hosting a contest here on The Joy of Homemaking. It’s a really simple contest, all you need is a blog, and the ability to cook (not absolutely necessary).

Here are the rules:

UPDATE: So here’s the deal, if you would like to be entered into the drawing, all you have to do is blog about the contest, with a link back to the Recipe Contest blog post, and you will be entered to win the $35 gift card (don’t forget to come back here and leave a comment with the link to your post about the contest). To be entered again in the drawing you can:

1. Pick out a recipe that you would like to try. It can be one that you’ve already done, or one that you’ve been wanting to try, or just one of your favorites.

2. Make the recipe, and take a picture (or pictures) of your final product (this part is preferred but optional, if you don’t have the ability to do pictures with your posts).

3. Post your recipe (including ingredients and preparation) and your optional photo to your blog, by 12:00 am PST, February 1, 2008.

4. In your post; include a link back to this post with an explanation about this contest, as well as how your recipe turned out, and then leave a comment here with the link to your post so I can add you to the drawing. On February 1st, I will draw a random postee and will promptly send the winner a $35 gift card to Crate & Barrel, that can be used in one of their stores or online.

Bonus-You can post a recipe once a week until February 1st, every time you post a recipe your name will be entered into the drawing. So everyone has the opportunity to be entered up to 5 times! If you don’t have a blog and would like to start one, please email me at chrisandjenni-at-gmail.com. It’s so easy to start and I would love to help you! If you are starting a new blog, you will get an extra entry just for the work of getting it started.

Here are some examples of what how your post might look, Whole Wheat Pumpkin Scones, Grandma Eva’s Peanut Brittle, Whole Wheat Egg Noodles. Keep in mind, they don’t have to look like this, these are just examples :)

Happy Cooking!

Yet another update to the Recipe Contest

Okay, here we are just a week into my recipe contest and I am changing things around a bit. I am going to make one change to the contest in order to allow more (busy) people to enter the contest, and frankly I would LOVE your participation to get the word out about my contest!

So here’s the deal, if you would like to be entered into the drawing, all you have to do is blog about the contest, with a link back to the Recipe Contest blog post I did and then leave a comment in my Contest Post leaving me the URL of your post, and you will be entered to win the $35 gift card. If you decide to enter a recipe, you will be entered a second or third time, based on how many entries you make, and the rest of the rules will still apply. I have updated the initial post about it to show the “new rules!” So blog and comment and I will enter you to win, it’s that simple! :)

And as a thanks to Robin for getting the ball rolling, her name will be entered twice in the drawing for a $35 gift card to Crate & Barrel!
